A Legacy of Leadership: Welcoming a New Generation of Superintendents

Last month, we celebrated the retirement of one of our long-time employees, Scott Imhoff, whose career has been nothing short of remarkable. This milestone follows closely on the heels of the 2022 retirement of another celebrated Superintendent, Jody Leakey. As we have seen Scott and Jody into retirement, we are thrilled to announce the promotions of their sons, Wyatt Imhoff and Cameron Leakey, to the position of Superintendent.

Recertification of ASME U, R, and S Stamp

Goodhart Sons Inc (GSI) has successfully recertified with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the National Board Inspection Code (NBIC). This was the 13th triennial review related to ASME pressure vessel construction and registration with the National Board. GSI has maintained these certifications since 1985 and has registered over 450 unfired pressure vessels and countless pressure parts during this time.

Goodhart Sons Company Picnic at Knoebels

This month, Goodhart Sons hosted our employees, retirees, and their families at Knoebels for our annual company picnic! Just over 350 people attended, making it a beautiful day filled with lots of smiles and family fun. We were delighted to bring everyone together for this special event.

Jeff Ream Memorial Fund

Jeffrey “Jeff” Ream, a beloved husband, father, brother, and mentor, passed away on May 23, 2024, in Lititz, Pennsylvania. Jeff had a successful career as the Director of Sales at Goodhart Sons.  He was known as a nurturing mentor to all those around him. His passion for cooking, gardening, canning food, fishing, bird watching, Celtic music and regular game nights with family brought joy to his life and those who knew him. Not to mention, the countless history facts he shared with his wife on their adventures discovering the world.

Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology: Sophomore Final Project Goodhart Sons Fire Pit

At Goodhart Sons, we understand the value of investing in the future of welding and fabrication. This understanding has guided us in our efforts to have a positive impact on the technology schools in our community. For decades this has meant donating scrap metal to Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology. Each year, students of the Metals Fabrication & Welding Technology Program at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology complete a sophomore final project. This year, we were humbled to hear that the project was dubbed the "Sophomore Final Project Goodhart Sons Fire Pit."

Advocating for Family Businesses: A Visit to Capitol Hill

This week, Marc Goodhart, one of Goodhart Sons' 4th Generation owners, had the opportunity to speak with members of Congress about the importance of family business in the United States. As a member of Family Enterprise USA and as a multigenerational business owner, Marc met with lawmakers to encourage joining the Congressional Family Business Caucus and gave voice to the positive impact that family businesses have economically and within our communities.

2024 Fly on the Run Fundraiser

This week, GSI once again had the privilege of participating in the Lancaster County Career and Technology Foundation’s annual Fly on the Run fundraiser. This event holds special significance to Goodhart Sons as it supports the students of the LCCTC by funding scholarships, workforce grants, and teaching innovation grants. Over the course of two days, the fundraiser combines a formal banquet with a fly fishing competition at the Millport Conservancy.

MSHA Training

At Goodhart Sons, safety is our top priority. As part of our commitment to creating a safe and secure work environment, we ensure that our employees undergo comprehensive Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA Part 46) training. MSHA focuses on enhancing safety practices in mining and related aggregate processing industries.

We had the pleasure of recognizing a number of our employees for their years of service with Goodhart Sons. We were able to celebrate employee anniversaries between 1 and 45 years! Additionally, we got to celebrate our team’s commitment to safety and our continued days without lost time streak.

In the dynamic landscape of industrial equipment installations and plant relocations, one of the most rewarding accomplishments is earning the trust of repeat customers. For our company, the ability to earn repeat business is marked by our commitment, quality, and enduring relationships.

Facility Updates

After 8 decades of being in business, offices will eventually get outdated. So over the years, we've done our best to keep our facilities looking nice and making upgrades as necessary. In 2016 we did a major renovation of Building 1 adding more offices and workspaces, swapping carpet for LVP, fresh paint, and a host of other modern upgrades. This year, we put our focus on Building 4 offices, our training room, and other common areas.

1.2 Miles of Weld and No Leaks

Every now and then, we have to take a moment to pat our exceptional team on the back for an impressive job. For this particularly complex project, our team was able to accomplish 1.2 miles of manual weld across 3 separate pressure vessels with no leaks detected during pressure testing. 

A Day at the Park

This past weekend, Goodhart Sons hosted our employees, retirees, and their families at Knoebels for our annual company picnic! We had just under 400 people attend. It was a day full of fun and family, and we were so grateful to be able to bring everyone together.

Mold Circulator Skid

Recently, Goodhart Sons, Inc. was contracted by a core customer requiring a pipe skid for OEM equipment. The customer needed a pipe skid designed and installed and had only hand sketches and specifications for the OEM equipment.

Goodhart Sons Inc. OEM Installation for LCCTC

(GSI) recently had the opportunity to volunteer our time to install a hydraulic shear for Lancaster County Career and Technology Center (LCCTC). LCCTC reached out when they needed to replace small shear equipment for the school's weld technology program. The project included leveling and anchoring in order to install the new OEM equipment.
