Fly on the Run Fundraiser
GSI recently participated in Lancaster County Career and Technology Foundation’s annual Fly on the Run fundraiser. The fundraiser supports the students of the LCCTC by funding scholarships, workforce grants, and teaching innovation grants. The fundraising is accomplished over two days with a formal banquet and a fly fishing competition. On the first day at the banquet, the students of the LCCTC culinary program prepare dinner for the attendees, and as part of the effort to raise funds, donated items are raffled off to the highest bidder. This year we were excited to donate an Eagles mini helmet signed by A.J. Brown. Then on the following day, a host of teams register to compete in a fly fishing competition to see which team can catch the most trout.
The LCCTC is one of the schools in our area responsible for producing the next generation of welders and fabricators and we’re proud to support the work that they do. Aside from the event benefiting a great cause, we always have a blast attending the banquet and participating in the fly fishing tournament – this year our team even took second place!
Between the events, raffles, and fundraising, Fly on the Run 2023 was another record year, raising $130,000 for the students and programs of the LCCTC!
