Goodhart Sons at Fly on the Run 2026
May 2026
Fly on the Run: Good Food, Good Fishing, Good People
Fly on the Run isn’t your typical fundraiser. Now in its 20th year, it’s two days of community coming together to support the students at the LCCTC and the trades programs that are building the next generation of skilled workers right here in Lancaster County. A banquet dinner, a charity auction, and a fly fishing tournament on a perfect Pennsylvania spring day. Honestly, not a bad way to invest in your community.
Two Days, One Purpose
Day one was a banquet dinner and charity auction hosted by the LCCTC Foundation. The dinner was prepared and served by LCCTC culinary students, and let’s be direct: it was exceptional. Beautifully presented, well cooked and baked, and a real reminder of what these students are capable of when given the opportunity to perform. The auction featured items donated by the community alongside pieces crafted by LCCTC students themselves: duck houses, a rocket stove, lawn chairs, metal garden stakes, and so much more.
Day two brought everyone to the Millport Conservancy for the fly fishing tournament. Trout in a gorgeous stretch of Lancaster County water, another standout meal from the culinary students, and an awards ceremony to cap it off. It was one of those spring days where the sky cooperates and the conversation flows easy. The kind of day that reminds you why community matters.
The Team We Brought
Our team at the tournament: Marc Goodhart, Scott Imhoff, and Scott’s sons Wyatt and Alan.
Scott is a retired Goodhart Sons employee who gave 44 years of solid work to this company and helped shape what it is today. His son Wyatt now holds the same position Scott once held here at our shop. They fished together that day at the Millport Conservancy, the three of them on a team and nobody had to say what that meant. You could just see it.
The trades built this company. The trades built this community. And there’s not a better picture of why events like this matter than a father and son standing in the same stream, carrying the same craft forward.
Showing Up Because It Matters
Lancaster County has been good to us for a long time. Ninety-one years, four generations, and the same community at the center of all of it. That’s not something we take for granted.
The trades are worth fighting for. The students coming through the LCCTC are choosing a path that demands real skill, real grit, and real pride in what you build with your hands. That deserves support, not because of what it returns to us, but because it’s the right thing to do for the next generation and for this community.
Events like Fly on the Run give us a chance to show up in a way that means something. We intend to keep doing just that.
To the People Who Made It Happen
To the LCCTC Foundation, thank you for providing such a fun way to get involved in our amazing community. And a specific, genuine thank you to Jen Baker, Executive Director of the Lancaster County Career and Technology Foundation, for putting on an event that genuinely delivers. The organization, the energy, the care that went into every detail, it showed. Jen and her team are doing real work for this community, and we’re proud to stand alongside them.
We’ll be back next year.
