Investing in Tomorrow: Goodhart Sons Hosts Manufacturers’ Association Pre-Apprenticeship Students for a Facility Tour
Nov 2024
At Goodhart Sons, we are committed to supporting the future of manufacturing by engaging with and inspiring the next generation of the skilled workforce. Recently, we had the privilege of hosting high school students from the Manufacturers’ Association Pre-Apprenticeship Program at our facility. This opportunity allowed us to share more about our business and the type of work we do in steel fabrication and installation.
The Manufacturers’ Association’s Pre-Apprenticeship Program, now in its sixth year, has been instrumental in introducing high school students to the possibilities within advanced manufacturing. Students from across seven counties in South Central Pennsylvania are given the chance to explore diverse trades and earn industry-recognized credentials, setting them on a path to high-demand, well-paying careers.
Our tour for the students included an introduction to Goodhart Sons’ projects and processes, from large-scale fabrication to precision installation services. We believe that connecting students with real-world applications in manufacturing helps illuminate the opportunity of a career in the skilled trades and provides an early understanding of how rewarding it can be. Our aim is to inspire these students as they consider the next steps in their careers by demonstrating the skills and dedication required for our projects.
Programs like Manufacturers’ Association’s Pre-Apprenticeship are vital to cultivating a skilled workforce for the future. We are honored to support these efforts and look forward to many more opportunities to share our passion for manufacturing with young people. We firmly believe that investing in the next generation of the skilled workforce is one of the best ways we can contribute to the future of our industry—and of our community.
