Closing Out Summer at the Solanco Fair Parade
Sep 2026
We recently joined the Solanco Fair Parade on September 16 as the annual fair got underway and local families gathered to celebrate America’s 250th birthday.
For Goodhart Sons, taking part in events like the Solanco Fair is a natural extension of being a Lancaster County company. We’ve called this area home since 1935. Four generations of Goodhart employees have lived and worked here, and many of the people we work with every day are our neighbors.
So when there’s an opportunity to get out of the shop, gather a few employees, and take part in a local tradition, we like to be there.
A Lancaster County Tradition
The Solanco Fair has been bringing people together for generations, and the parade is one of the highlights of the week.
This year’s parade had an added significance as communities across the country marked 250 years of American history. Goodhart Sons was proud to take part in the celebration from our place here in southern Lancaster County.
A group of our employees volunteered their evening to ride in the parade and represent the company. Our truck made its way along the route while the crew handed out candy to the kids lining the streets and waved.
Why We Show Up
Goodhart Sons has changed quite a bit since 1935. The work we do has grown, our capabilities have expanded, and our projects now take us far beyond Lancaster County.
But it’s still home.
Four generations of Goodhart Sons have lived and worked here. Our employees live here. Their families live here. The businesses we work alongside are here. The schools, trades programs, community organizations, fairs and local events are all part of the same place we’ve been fortunate enough to call home for more than nine decades.
That makes community involvement mean more than putting the company name on a sign or showing up when there’s business to be done.
Sometimes, it’s just about being there.
Looking Ahead
As summer winds down, we’re glad we got the chance to spend an evening at the Solanco Fair with our neighbors and friends.
Thanks to everyone who came out for the parade and to the Goodhart Sons employees who volunteered their time to be part of it.
We’ll see you next year!
