Goodhart Sons Inc. OEM Installation for LCCTC

Goodhart Sons Inc. (GSI) recently had the opportunity to volunteer our time to install a hydraulic shear for Lancaster County Career and Technology Center (LCCTC). LCCTC reached out when they needed to replace small shear equipment for the school’s weld technology program. The project included leveling and anchoring in order to install the new OEM equipment.

GSI employs millwrights, riggers, welders, pipefitters, electricians and insulators that travel the country to install the projects that we fabricate as well as many types of OEM equipment and production lines, so we were happy to lend a hand to our neighbors right here in Central Pennsylvania. As part of a typical job, we serve as the project coordinator and often work through plant shutdowns, so we know how important it is that installation services are completed on schedule. Treating this like any other project, we were able to get the old shear removed and install the new shear with minimal time lost for the Weld Technology program.

LCCTC Weld Technology’s instructor later reached out to let us know that we “completed the task in a very efficient manner. Good teamwork and good communication to ensure the job was done to the customer’s satisfaction.” Additionally, “[LCCTC] used [GSI’s] work ethic as a class discussion on workplace soft skills and problem solving.” Coincidentally, one of the members of our team helping to install the OEM equipment was a graduate of LCCTC nearly 18 years ago. We feel fortunate to have schools like LCCTC, right in our own backyard, developing students for their future in the industry.
