Ongoing Weld Training: Out of Position Welding
Jul 2024
At Goodhart Sons, we pride ourselves on delivering top-quality welding on all of our fabrication and installation projects. Maintaining and accelerating our standards calls for ongoing weld training and engaging industry experts like Eddie Woodard, a Welding Engineer from Miller Electric Mfg. Most recently, Eddie helped address out of position welding with our team. This particular training focused on improving the techniques required to produce high-quality welds in various positions using fluxcore wire (FCAW), ensuring we uphold the quality of our welds regardless of the complexity or angle.
Out of position welding presents unique challenges like joint geometry and troubleshooting that require advanced skills and precision. Our training addressed how to handle these challenges head-on, reducing the need for rework and eliminating unnecessary grinding. By investing in this type of training, we ensure that our welders can produce consistent, high-quality welds, which ultimately saves time and resources. This commitment to excellence not only benefits our customers but also strengthens our reputation as a leader in the industry.
We believe that continuous improvement is key to our success. Our ongoing training program reflects our dedication to equipping both seasoned and upcoming welders with the skills they need to excel. By fostering a culture of learning and development, we ensure that the next generation of welders at Goodhart Sons is as proficient and skilled as our long-tenured professionals. This approach guarantees that our customers receive the same level of quality and expertise they have come to expect from us over the decades.
Having access to experts like Eddie has proved to be invaluable, and we are proud of our team and their dedication to continuous improvement. Looking ahead, we are confident that our skills and expertise will meet any welding challenge that comes our way.
